Deficit in General Government Sector Decreases in Past Four Years, Debt Grows


Sofia, October 21 (BTA) - The deficit in the General Government
sector for 2013 was 1.2 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product
(GDP), or 989 million leva, the National Statistical Institute
said, releasing data about the General Government deficit and
debt in 2010-2013.

Bulgaria's 2013 GDP was 80,282 million leva.

The deficit in the sector under review decreased in the past
four years. It was the smallest, 0.5 per cent of the GDP, in
2012, and the highest, 3.2 per cent of the GDP, in 2010.

The debt in the sector in 2013 stood at 14,731 million leva, or
18.3 per cent of the GDP. It was the lowest, 11,453 million
leva, in 2010, but had an overall growth in the four years under
review.
