Culture Minister Martin Ivanov, Spanish Ambassador Jose Luis Tapia Vicente Discuss
Forthcoming Picasso Exhibition in Bulgaria

Sofia, October 28 (BTA) - Culture Minister Martin Ivanov and
Spanish Ambassador here Jose Luis Tapia Vicente have discussed a
forthcoming Picasso exhibition in Bulgaria, IvanovТs ministry
said Tuesday.

The exhibition, featuring works from Museo Picasso Malaga, will
be hosted by the National Gallery of Art in Sofia in October
2015.

The ballroom of the former royal palace which now houses the
National Gallery was chosen as the best site for the exhibition
by the President of the Picasso Foundation, Jose Maria Luna, the
Ambassador explained.

The event will feature lithographs, graphic pieces and pottery
by Picasso and the opening is planned for mid-October next year.


The exhibition, featuring between 60 and 100 exhibits, will be
on for a month and a half. It is the outcome of the concerted
efforts of Sofia Municipality, the Ministry of Culture and the
Spanish embassy here. A special catalogue will also be prepared
and to enhance the educational role of the event special classes
with young visitors are also being planned by the embassy and
the Cervantes Institute in Sofia.
