Sofia, October 30 (BTA) - Bulgarian News Agency Director General
Maxim Minchev Thursday received a honorary badge commemorating
the 145th anniversary of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
(BAS). The distinction was awarded by BAS President Academician
Stefan Vodenicharov at a ceremony hosted by the Academy
headquarters.

In his address Vodenicharov noted that BTA has helped popularize
the work of the Academy and the benefit it brings to society.
Minchev is the first to receive this distinction, he noted.
Minchev also received a special diploma for his services to BAS
and BTA's contribution to marking the 145th anniversary of the
Academy.

Minchev expressed gratitude for the honour and said that the
doors of BTA have always been open to BAS.

The sides commented on further plans for cooperation, including
BAS regional academic centres and BTA correspondents. /LI/BR
