ABV to Participate in Government: Ivaylo Kalfin to Be Deputy PM, Labour Minister


Sofia, November 6 (BTA) - The National Council of the leftist
ABV coalition approved the formation's participation in the
Executive and the nomination of its floor leader Ivaylo Kalfin
for deputy prime minister of social policy and demographic
development and for labour and social policy minister, ABV
leader Georgi Purvanov told a news conference Thursday.

"We also approved a partnership agreement for stability and
development, which will be signed with the leadership of GERB,"
Purvanov added.

The National Council of ABV decided to support in Parliament
GERB's programme declaration and the formation of a cabinet on
this basis, Kalfin said. Negotiations on several topics were
still held on Thursday morning, he added. "We see a large part
of our priorities in the programme declaration in its current
form," he noted. In Kalfin's words, there are over 40 provisions
proposed by ABV and approved by the other political forces.

Purvanov said that ABV will play the role of a "social
corrective within the new government".
