Sofia, November 7 (BTA) - Parliament Friday elected Boyko
Borissov Prime Minister by a vote of 149-85, with no
abstentions.
He was backed by all MPs of GERB, the Reformist Bloc, ABV and
the Bulgarian Democratic Centre, 17 MPs of the Patriotic Front
and independent MP Ana Barakova. All MPs of the Bulgarian
Socialist Party (BSP), the Movement for Rights and Freedoms
(MRF) and Ataka and two MPs of the Patritoic Front voted
against.
Presenting the nominee, GERB Deputy Floor Leader Tsvetan
Tsvetanov said that given the country's dire economic situation,
the Prime Minister would face serious challenges. "The
responsibility is huge but I am certain that Mr Borissov has the
firm will and resolve and the dedication to work for pulling
the country out of this deep crisis."
Tsvetanov also said: "I believe that together with the Council
of Ministers' team, with the parliamentary support the future
government received today, we will be able to achieve political
and institutional stability."
Parliament also approved the cabinet's structure and
composition.
The cabinet's structure was approved by a vote of 144-83, with
one abstention from the Patriotic Front. All MPs of the BSP, the
MRF and Ataka voted against.
The cabinet's composition was approved by 136-97, with one
abstention. Of the 234 MPs participating in the vote, GERB, the
Reformist Bloc, all but one of the Patriotic Front and ABV voted
for; BSP-Left Bulgaria, the MRF, Ataka and the Bulgarian
Democratic Centre voted against. One MP of the Patriotic Front
abstained.

administration: Roumyana Buchvarova (GERB);
- Deputy Prime Minister for European affairs and the Cooperation
and Verification Mechanism: Meglena Kuneva (Reformist Bloc);
- Deputy Prime Minister for EU funds and economy: Tomislav
Donchev (GERB);
- Deputy Prime Minister and minister for demographic and social
policy: Ivailo Kalfin (ABV);
- Economy: Bozhidar Loukarski (Reformist Bloc);
- Energy: Temenouzhka Petkova (GERB);
- Tourism: Nikolina Angelkova (GERB);
- Finance: Vladislav Goranov (GERB);
- Transport, information technology and communications: Ivaylo
Moskovski (GERB);
- Agriculture and food: Dessislava Taneva (GERB);
- Regional development and public works: Liliyana Pavlova
(GERB);
- Environment and water: Ivelina Vassileva (GERB);
- Health: Peter Moskov (Reformist Bloc);
- Education and science: Todor Tanev (Reformist Bloc);
- Interior: Vesselin Vouchkov (GERB);
- Foreign affairs: Daniel Mitov (Reformist Bloc quota);
- Justice: Hristo Ivanov (Reformist Bloc quota);
- Defence: Nikolay Nenchev (Reformist Bloc);

- Youth and sports: Krassen Kralev (GERB).
