National Assembly Deputy Chair Rossitsa Yanakieva Dies


Pernik, Southwestern Bulgaria, January 26 (BTA) - National
Assembly Deputy Chair Rossitsa Yanakieva, MP of ABV, passed away
on the night of Sunday to Monday, the ABV Chapter in Pernik
said on Monday. She was in a coma after a severe brain stroke.

Yanakieva was born in Pernik on July 7, 1954. She graduated in
chemistry from Sofia University and worked at the Pectin Plant,
as a director of the District Youth Home and at the Pernik
District Heating Company. She was a member of the 40th National
Assembly for the Bulgarian Socialist Party (2005-2007).
Yanakieva served as Mayor of Pernik (2007-2011, 2011-2014)
before being elected to the present Parliament on the ABV
ticket.
