Prime Minister Borissov Congratulates New Greek Prime Minister Tsipras

Sofia, January 27 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko
Borissov cabled congratulations to Alexis Tsipras on his taking
office as Prime Minister of Greece following the success of his
SYRIZA Party at the early parliamentary elections on January 25,
the Government Information Service said on Tuesday.

"Bulgaria and Greece are friendly and partner States, and their
cooperation has strategic dimensions," Borissov wrote. He
emphasized that there are numerous untapped opportunities for
the promotion of this cooperation, including in the energy
field, as well as in the processes in the region of Southeastern
Europe.

"I would like to assure you that in Bulgaria you will always
have a sincere friend and a dependable partner," the cable
reads. The Prime Minister wishes his counterpart success in his
future work.

Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Chairman Mihail Mikov and Ataka
Leader Volen Siderov cabled congratulations to the new Greek
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in connection with the victory of
the Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA) at Sunday's
elections.

"Today, Greek citizens have voted confidence in taking a
different course - the one of economic development and growth as
opposed to the neo-Liberal policy of painful austerity and
anti-crisis restrictions," Mikov wrote. "May I wish you
strength, inexhaustible energy, will and success," he concludes.

"I am happy that Greece has chosen the right way - taking their
homeland destiny into their own hands. [...] I have repeatedly
said that the incumbent European Union should disintegrate and a
new one should be set up on the basis of genuine national
sovereignty and Christian values," Siderov wrote.
