Prosecutor General Demands Suspension from Office of Sofia City Court President


Sofia, February 19 (BTA) - Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov
demanded from the Supreme Judicial Council to suspend from
office Sofia City Court President Vladimira Yaneva because of
pre-trial proceedings launched against her.

The proceeding is launched over a recent scandal with a
wiertapping operation codenamed Worms. The Worms scandal was
triggered by a statement of Atanas Atanassov, Chairman of the
Parliamentary Internal Security Committee, about wiretapping of
protestors against the former government of prime minister
Plamen Oresharski. Subsequently, it transpired that the question
is about leaking of information from the Interior Ministry for
unknown purposes after Sofia City Court chief Yaneva authorized
the use of special surveillance means for 300 days.
