Bulgarian Justice Minister Ivanov Confers in Munich with Bavarian Counterpart Bausback


Munich, February 20 (BTA) - The Justice Minister or Bavaria,
Prof. Dr Winfried Bausback, welcomed his Bulgarian counterpart
Hristo Ivanov at the Palace of Justice in Munich on Friday,
Ivanov's Ministry said in a press release. "I am glad that we
can continue the important legal exchange between Bavaria and
Bulgaria and more specifically can speak about the joint
cross-border work on criminal matters, about the shared
intentions in training and qualification upgrading, as well as
about the planned judicial reform in Bulgaria," Bausbeck said.

German Bundestag member Hans-Peter Uhl, who has been committed
for years to experience sharing between Germany and Bulgaria,
Munich Prosecutor General Christoph Stroetz, Bausbeck's Chef de
Cabinet Reinhard Roettle, as well as heads of key units at the
Bavarian Ministry of Justice, also took part in the meeting. The
 Bulgarian delegation includes Deputy Justice Minister Petko
Petkov, Ivanov's Chef de Cabinet Nadezhda Yordanova, and the
Prime Minister's international affairs adviser Denitsa Zheleva.

"The procedure for surrender of offenders have so far taken
place trouble-free, which is indicative of our good joint work,"
 Bausback also said, welcoming the guest.

For his part, Ivanov pointed to the Bulgarian Government's
ambitious programme of measures targeting a reform of all
aspects of the judicial system and its related institutions.

In the afternoon, the two justice ministers visited the school
of law in Straubing and the preventive detention institution.
