GERB Will Table Changes to Security Legislation Next Week

Sofia, March 6 (BTA) - GERB will table amendments to security
legislation next week, GERB floor leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov said.
He was speaking after a meeting between GERB representatives
and President Rosen Plevneliev within a traditional month of
consultations with parliamentary parties.

The meeting with the largest parliamentary group GERB was the
last of the consultations.

GERB voiced an opinion that changing the election legislation
before the local elections would be unwise According to
Tsvetanov, this could give rise to speculations that the changes
are made to favour the ruling coalition or any of the coalition
parties. GERB supported Plevneliev's idea for a referendum on
election rules with local elections.

GERB voiced support for the adopted judicial reform strategy.
Talks also highlighted the education reform.

High marks were given to the reforms launched in the energy
sector. Tsvetanov said that
the Energy Act allows to reduce in 2015 deficit by some 300-350
million leva. He noted that each year the sector generates a
deficit of some 600 million leva.

The administrative reform and the e-government were also on the
agenda.

Tsvetanov highlighted a political consensus for launching
legislative measures by the end of March that will make the
pension system sustainable.

Taking a question, Tsvetanov said that the meeting did not
discuss nominations for Interior Ministry Chief Secretary and
State Agency for National Security head.
