Botevgrad Mayor Taken Forcibly to Prosecution Service

Sofia, June 22 (BTA) - Botevgrad Mayor Georgi Georgiev was taken
forcibly to the prosecutor's office on Monday morning, the
Interior Ministry said.

Georgiev is being investigated on a tip about irregularities
with public procurement deals and the lease of municipal
properties.

Despite being summoned multiple times Georgiev failed to appear
before the prosecution authorities.

Georgiev is the father of Daniel Kirilov MP of GERB, who
switched allegiance several times between GERB and the Bulgaria
without Censorship within one day.

So far Georgiev has run for mayor on the ticket of the Bulgarian
Socialist Party, the National Movement for Surge and Stability
and GERB.
