Bulgarian PM Borissov, European Council President Tusk  Discuss Situation in Greece

Sofia, July 7 (BTA) - "Bulgaria attaches paramount importance to
stability of the EU and the Eurozone," Bulgarian Prime Minister
Boyko Borissov said in a telephone conversation with European
Council President Donald Tusk late Monday evening, the
Government Information Service said on Tuesday. The two
discussed post-referendum developments in Greece.

Borissov hopes that the high-level European meetings will open
up a new opportunity for finding a solution acceptable to the
Eurozone countries as well as to all EU Member States. The Prime
Minister pointed out that Greece is Bulgaria's nextdoor
neighbour and close partner in the EU, and that Greece achieving
economic and financial stabililty is important for Bulgaria.
According to Borissov, all sides must show responsibility and
realism and not perturb European leaders needlessly.

Tusk thanked the Prime Minister for the stability and support
that Bulgaria generates in the region. For his part, Borissov
called attention to the political and financial stability in his
country and added that all necessary measures have been taken
for security of the banking sector regardless of the turn that
events in Greece may take. The European Council President
confirmed that the Bulgarian Government had taken adequate and
predictable steps and called on people not to trust speculation
on the subject.
