Bulgarian Foreign Minister Mitov Takes Part in Croatia Summit 2015

Dubrovnik, Croatia, July 10 (BTA) -  Bulgarian Foreign Minister
Daniel Mitov is taking part in the Tenth Annual Croatia Forum,
which is held in Dubrovnik between July 9 and 11. The main topic
 of this year's event, organized by Croatia's Ministry of
Foreign and European Affairs, is "New  Development Policy -
Towards Partnership and a Common Vision", Mitov's Ministry said
in a press release on Friday.

Other participants in the Croatia Forum 2015 include NATO
Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Croatian Prime Minister
Zoran Milanovic, EU Commission Vice-President for Energy Union
Maros Sefcovic, EU International Cooperation Commissioner Neven
Mimica, EU Climate Action and Energy Commissioner Miguel Arias
Canete, and the foreign ministers of a large number of European,
 African and Asian countries, representatives of international
organizations and financial institutions.

Mitov took part in Panel 2 "Different perspectives and partner
coordination: Big, small and/or new donors". In his
presentation, the chief Bulgarian diplomat highlighted the
specific role and advantages of small donors, which are most of
the countries that have acceded to the EU since 2000. He
emphasized these countries' contributions to the building of a
new architecture of international development cooperation, which
 is distinguished by innovative approaches, a variety of
participants and sources of financing.

The Foreign Minister stressed the importance of countries like
Bulgaria, which have valuable experience and knowledge of the
transition to democracy and market economy. In his words, this
experience can be easily implemented in the countries of the
Western Balkans and the Black Sea basin within the context of
their integration and association with the European Union. Mitov
 noted Bulgaria's readiness to assist those countries on a
partnership basis. This is possible within the framework of the
Bulgarian development policy, which is based on European values
and priorities, including achievement of stability,
establishment of sustained democratic governance, protection of
human rights and assertion of the rule of law.

After the end of the forum, Mitov will leave for Bosnia and
Herzegovina for a memorial ceremony in Srebrenica on July 11.
