European Commission Encourages Reforms in Bulgaria in Accordance with Proposed Justice
and Home Affairs Measures

Brussels, July 15 (BTA Correspondent Nikolay Jeliazkov) - The
European Commission encourages the continuation of reforms in
Bulgaria for completing the proposed measures in the areas of
justice and home affairs, BTA learned from sources from the
Council of the EU, where Bulgaria's progress under the
Cooperation and Verification Mechanism was discussed verbally on
 Wednesday.

The Commission has verbally presented information about the
steps taken by Bulgaria and Romania during the period after the
last CVM reports were issued this January. The EC and the EU
countries take into account the measures taken by Bulgaria for
reforming the judicial system and fighting corruption.

According to the Commission, the measures taken by Bulgaria
match the recommendations from the last report. The next written
report for Bulgaria is expected at the beginning of next year.
