GERB Floor Leader Tsvetanov  Tells Reformist Bloc to Show More  Humility, Тhey Shrug Off Criticism

Sofia, November 5 (BTA) - "If the elections had been
parliamentary, we would have hardly counted on the support of
the Reformist Bloc (RB) because they would have not entered
Parliament," GERB Floor Leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov commented
before journalists Thursday. "You cannot have seven mayors,
elected with the support of roughly the total of 20,000 votes,
and keep saying that you have achieved big success and have
ensured legitimacy in the public space," he added.

The RB shrugged off any hint of weak performance at the
elections or of not deserving to be a part of the ruling
coalition. There is not any doubt in the success of the ruling
coalition and its two main constituting parties, RB Co-Floor
Leader Radan Kanev commented before journalists in the National
Assembly.

He said further that at a meeting with Prime Minister Boyko
Borissov earlier in the day they exchanged congratulations for
the "serious success of both formations and, most of all, the
very serious joint success and the stabilization of governance,
which follows this success."

"If Mr. Tsvetanov keeps the rhetoric of the night after the
elections, he is obviously in a heavy dissonance with the other
decisive factors in the governance," Kanev noted obviously
referring to Tsvetanov's statements against the RB.

Tsvetanov's words were prompted by a remark of Movement for
Rights and Freedoms (MRF) leader Lyutvi Mestan that "GERB are
also fed up with the over-exaggeration of the rather modest
result of RB". "This statement is rather extreme," said
Tsvetanov but added that both the Prime Minister and himself
asked the RB to "show more humility".

Asked whether MRF show more humility than the RB, Tsvetanov
replied: "Honestly speaking, on several occasions the opposition
has been showing more nationally responsible behaviour". He
voiced hope, however, that the common sense would take the upper
 hand within the Bloc.

Speaking at a news conference earlier in the day, MRF leader
Mestan said that there is a "well planned scenario of
underestimating the result of MRF at the local elections.
Another objective of this scenario is to over-exaggerate the
rather modest result of the RB".

According to Mestan, this is being done because the strong
performance of MRF is perceived as a threat for the stability of
 the Cabinet.
