site.btaLabour Costs Up by 13.8% in Q3 Y/Y

Sofia, December 21 (BTA) - Official statistics show that the per-hour labour cost in the third quarter of 2021 increased by 13.8 per cent from this time last year. The increase is 14.2 per cent in industry, 11.1 per cent in the services sector and 14.6 per cent in construction, said the National Statistical Institute Tuesday.

By sector, the increase in the total labour cost from a year earlier is reported in Culture, Sport and Recreation (26.6 per cent), Education (23.5 per cent), and Hotels and Restaurants (16.7 per cent). A decrease is seen in labour costs in real estate brokerage (7.9 per cent).

During the observable period, costs other than for labour increased by 12.3 per cent. By sector, the change varies from an increase of 27.5 per cent in Culture, Sport and Recreation to a decrease of 8.6 per cent in real estate brokerage.
