site.btaPresident Radev Greets Azeri Counterpart on 60th Birthday

December 24 (BTA) - President Rumen Radev talked with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev by telephone on the occasion of the latter 60th birthday, Radev's Press Secretariat reported on Friday. The Bulgarian leader extended good wishes and expressed hope for further upward development of the two countries' relations, to which President Aliyev has contributed substantially.

The two presidents discussed opportunities for cooperation between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, including in the field of energy and the supply of natural gas. Radev said Azerbaijan has established itself as a reliable partner to Bulgaria at a difficult time of soaring international energy prices, and noted that Sofia values bilateral cooperation highly.

Radev repeated his invitation to Aliyev to visit Bulgaria at his convenience in 2022. VE
