Havana/Sofia, November 1 (BTA) - The Cuban Chamber of Commerce will help Bulgarian companies willing to do business there, it emerged from a meeting between Bulgarian Deputy Economy Minister Alexander Manolev and the President of the Chamber, Orlando Hernandez Guillen, the Bulgarian Economy Ministry said in a press release. The two officials met during the international FIHAV 2017 trade fair taking place in Havana.

It transpired at the talks that there is increased interest on the part of Bulgarian companies in setting up joint ventures in Cuba. Four such companies were mentioned: Prista Oil, Rubella, Bulgargeomin, and Ashcuba.

Guillen said that the Chamber of Commerce can help with not only advice about potential partners and clarification of the administrative procedures, but also in the registration of foreign companies. He said that the Chamber has helped individual business representatives who sought advice, but that the process was not smooth enough. Now the dialogue will be much easier and will also involve the Bulgarian Trade and Economic Office which has been reinstated and is working.

Manolev said that the Bulgarian Economy Ministry will to aid the process. He said that Cuban businesses have expressed interest in importing Bulgarian drugs, cheeses, butter, and fruit dairy products and sweets which be mainly offered in hotel chains.
