Rousse, on the Danube, November 7 (BTA) - Bulgaria's parliamentary Internal Security and Public Order Committee (ISPOC) and the Committee for Defence, Public Order and National Security with the Romanian Parliament's Chamber of Deputies will elaborate a joint declaration in support of the two countries' efforts to join the Schengen area, ISPOC Chairman Tsvetan Tsvetanov said here Tuesday.

In Rousse, the two parliamentary committees held their first bilateral meeting, which was attended by representatives of the Bulgarian and Romanian border police and Bulgarian Deputy Interior Minister Krassimir Tsipov.

In the city on the Danube, Tsvetanov met with Dorel-Gheorghe Caprar, Chairman of the Committee for Defence, Public Order and National Security. In Caprar's words, Romania shares Bulgaria's wish to join Schengen and together the two countries can obtain their goals.

Tsvetanov said that a project for bilateral cooperation between the two parliamentary committees will be presented. "When the two parliamentary committees for security and defence speak the same language, this means that we are countries that strive to have security and prosperity in the region," he noted.
