Sofia, November 21 (BTA) - The Health Ministry said on Tuesday that currently there is no pollution of ruthenium 106 on the territory of the country.

Russia has admitted that it had recorded ruthenium 106 pollution over parts of its country in late September and early October, confirming the reports of several European agencies which monitor radioactivity.

The National Centre of Radiobiology and Radiation Protection said there was no health risk for the population as there are no data about radionuclides transfer on the territory of Bulgaria. Earlier there were media reports that a radioactive cloud overflew Bulgaria.

According to the experts data about ruthenium-106 levels published by the Executive Environment Agency don't require any anti-radiation measures on the territory of the country.

The measured levels are low and don't exceed the normal ranges.

Authorities will exercise the necessary control of the atmosphere and will promptly inform the public if any health risks emerge.
