site.btaBulgarian Patrol Vessel Rescues 120 Illegal Migrants Near Lesbos

Sofia, November 25 (BTA) - A Bulgarian patrol vessel on a European border security mission off the Greek coast, has rescued 120 illegal migrants, the Interior Ministry reported Saturday. The group of migrants included 53 men, 34 women and 33 children. Their nationality is yet to be established.

The migrants were on two inflatable boats found at 4 in the morning floating in Greek water near the island of Lesbos. They were taken on board the Bulgarian ship.

A boy at a visible age of 10 was found in critical condition and was immediately taken to hospital. The rest were taken to the nearest port.

The Bulgarian patrol ship was part of the Poseidon operation under the command of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency.
