Sofia, January 28 (BTA) - In December 2017, the base interest rate was 0.00 per cent, the same as in December 2016 and November 2017, the Bulgarian National Bank said.

The yield to maturity of five-year lev-denominated government securities on the secondary market dropped by 0.12 percentage points from December 2016 to 0.08 per cent.

In December compared with a year earlier, the average interest rate on deposits with agreed maturity decreased by 0.05 percentage points to 0.09 per cent for those in leva, and by 0.21 percentage points to 0.05 per cent for those in euro. Compared to November 2017, the average interest rate on lev-denominated deposits with agreed maturity decreased by 0.15 percentage points, and by 0.03 percentage points on those agreed in euro.

Year-on-year, the average interest rate on corporate loans of up to 1 million euro decreased by 0.46 percentage points to 3.90 per cent for loans agreed in leva, and by 0.59 percentage points to 3.62 per cent for loans agreed in euro.
