Lovech, Northern Bulgaria, June 11 (BTA) - The Podkrepa Labour Confederation insists on making the payment for night work as a percentage of the minimum working salary and reducing such work within certain limits, Podkrepa President Dimiter Manolov told reporters here, at the opening of an office of the trade union.

Manolov said that a ten-fold increase of the payment of night work would be fair. He said that at the moment in Bulgaria 400,000 people work during the night regularly. Manolov said that the topic was featured in the Bulgarian report at the annual conference of the International Labour Organization. "We informed the world that in Bulgaria night work is paid at 0.12 euros per hour, which is absurd," he said. The trade union leader noted that the amount of payment for night work was last changed ten years ago. Manolov said that Podkrepa will organize an international conference on the topic next week.
