May 1 (BTA) - The authorities Friday lifted the ban on visits to city parks, gardens, nature parks, mountains and other nature sites. The ban was put in place in mid-March as a measure against the spread of coronavirus. Also lifted is the requirement for compulsory wearing of face masks in open public spaces.

The easing of the measures was made possible by an order to this effect of Health Minister Kiril Ananiev, which came after a meeting on Friday morning between Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, cabinet ministers and the national coronvirus task force.

Mayors and regional governors are required to set up the necessary measures for visits by the people to parks and mountains. Public transport to such locations will remain closed for the time being. Mountain lifts, huts and tourist facilities are closed too.

The physical distancing rule remains.

People are advised to wear masks or different face protection when in contact with others. Face masks remain mandatory for indoor public spaces.

The Health Minister issued an order on Thursday banning exports of medicine products used in the treatment of diabetes, schizophrenia, and oncological diseases. The ban is introduced to avert shortages of such medicines in Bulgaria. Also banned is the export of certain products that contain ethanol used in the production of disinfectants. RI/ZH//
