site.bta1,555 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in Bulgaria

May 1 (BTA) - The confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria are 1,555, 14 more than the latest figure, the national coronavirus task force said on Friday afternoon.

A total of 276 patients have recovered. The fatalities are 68, two recent.

A total of 317 patients are in hospital, 43 of whom in intensive care.

A second transfusion of blood plasma was made on one more
COVID-19 patient in the Military Medical Academy (MMA) on
Thursday. The two patients who received such treatment are in
better condition.

The Director of the National Centre of Infectious and Parasitic
Diseases, Prof. Todor Kantardjiev, said r that the Health Ministry
has allocated space and everything necessary to start building
up a stock of frozen blood plasma in all blood types, to meet
the demand of hospitals.

At the moment Bulgaria has 70,000 PCR tests for COVID-19. RI/ZH
