Sofia, May 4 (BTA) - A total of 474 projects of local governments, schools and kindergartens have been approved in a competition within an annual campaign for clean environment, the Environment Ministry said on Monday.
The 17th edition of the campaign is organized by the Environment Ministry and the Enterprise for Management of Environmental Protection Activities.
Beneficiaries include local governments which receive funding of up to 10,000 leva in support of personal development or child care establishments with funding of up to 5,000 leva. By a decision of EMEPA's Management Board 3.5 million leva are allocated for the most inventive and educational project.
In 2020 eligible for funding will be 232 projects of local governments (901 submissions), 132 projects of kindergartens (426 submissions) and 110 projects of schools (506 submissions).
Within the campaign volunteers including youths and children build playgrounds, plant public spaces, build recreational areas and outdoor classrooms, publish brochures and hold environmental events.
Between 2016 and 2019, 493 projects of schools, 475 projects of kindergartens and 932 projects of local governments were implemented, worth 14 million leva. RI/PP
