site.bta1,778 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Bulgaria

Sofia, May 6 (BTA) - A total of 1,465 people were tested for
COVID-19 between May 5 and May 6, bringing the total number of
test samples to 51,768 or 7,395 per one million population. In
this sampling, there have been 69 positive results. As of 5 pm
on May 6, there have been an additional 20 confirmed new cases.
The total
number of laboratory confirmed infections in the country reached
1, 778, said the National Coronavirus Taskforce.

Assoc. Prof. Dimo Dimov from the Taskforce noted that there are
four new cases of infected children between the ages of two and
15. There are also nine new cases of infection among medical
staff.  A total of 18 people have been newly cured.

Currently 84 persons infected with COVID-19 have died in
Bulgaria. NV/DT
