site.bta2,433 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in Bulgaria

Sofia, May 25 (BTA) - The number of COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria
reached 2,433 after six new infections were confirmed in 443
tests over the last 24 hours, the national coronavirus task
force said on Monday morning. Twenty-two patients recovered,
making Sunday the seventh day in a row when recoveries
outnumbered the new cases. No one died of COVID-19.

Of those infected, 235 people are in hospital, including 20 in
intensive care units. This is the first time recoveries have
outnumbered the new cases on a weekly basis.

By age group, 21 per cent of infected people in Bulgaria are in
their 50s, 19 per cent are in their 60s, and 17 per cent are in
their 40s. People aged under 60 account for 66 per cent of
patients, and over 60s account for the remaining 34 per cent.

The number of total deaths between March 9 and April 26, 2020
dropped by 3 per cent from a year earlier, according to the
National Statistical Institute. DD
