site.btaBDA: Starting Friday, AstraZeneca Jab Can Be Administered in Bulgaria, All EU Member States

Sofia, March 18 (BTA) - In an official statement, the European
Medicines Agency (EMA) confirmed the efficiency and safety of
the AstraZeneca jab, and that the benefits of the vaccine
continue to outweigh the risks it entails. All EU member states
can resume administering the AstraZeneca jab in pandemic
conditions, said at a briefing on Thursday director of the
Bulgarian Drug Agency (BDA) Bogdan Kirilov.

Starting Friday, the AstraZeneca jab can be administered in
Bulgaria and all other EU member states, he said, adding that
the BDA has conducted its own analyses which confirmed the
vaccine's quality, as well as an analysis of one of the lots.
According to Kirilov, based on autopsy results, the recent death
of a woman in Plovdiv cannot be related to the vaccine she was
administered.

Deputy Health Minister Zheni Nacheva announced that starting
Friday the electronic vaccination registration system will be
back online.
