site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 943 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 21.4%

Sofia, March 22 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases
in Bulgaria reached 303,423 after 4,410 tests identified 943 new
 infections onSunday, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
21.4 per cent.

Sofia city tops the list of new cases with 293 positive tests,
followed by the coastal regions of Bourhas and Varna with 116 
and 78 new cases, respectively.

The active cases are 56,633. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 8,660, including 690 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 11,209, with 11 new
cases detected Sunday.

Another 534 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 234,771.

Fifty-three fatalities were reported, and the death toll now
adds up to 12,019.

With 2,358 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 368,905
persons in aggregate have been vaccinated against the
coronavirus, of whom 71,224 have received both doses.
