Sofia, May 9 (BTA) - The prosecuting magistracy has started probing the statements made by businessmen Svetoslav Ilchovski and Ivan Angelov during a hearing in front of the ad hoc parliamentary committee scrutinizing the GERB incumbency.

The Prosecutor General's Spokesperson, Siyka Mileva, told BTA that the prosecuting magistracy's actions [in response to the scandalous allegations] have started a few days ago and that the statements made by the two businessmen will be probed.

Speaking during a hearing before the committee on Friday, Ilchovski, a large landowner and grain producer, talked about extensive schemes for pressuring businesses to cater to the power-holders' interests and about corruption, which he claims he was subjected to. Angelov, a large poultry producer, whose name and company were mentioned by Ilchovski as being involved in shady dealings, said that he will refer the latter to the prosecuting magistracy for spreading lies.

Mileva said that the election campaign has been going on for months now and the prosecuting magistracy receives numerous alerts. MY
