site.btaCustoms Revenues Reach Six-Year High In May-September

October 26 (BTA) - Between May and September, the Customs
 Agency collected 4,729.1 million leva in revenues from excise
duty, import VAT, duties and fines.

This is a six-year high for the comparable periods from 2016
onwards.

In August and September, the revenues exceeded 1 billion leva.

Between May and September, the Customs Agency collected 2,607.1
million leva in revenues from excise duty. Despite the epidemic
emergency across the country, the revenues from excise duty are
the highest for the comparable periods in 2016-2020.

The same trend is observed for revenues from import VAT, which
have also hit a six-year high. Revenues from import VAT exceeded
 by 720.5 million leva (56.7 per cent) those collected in the
like period of 2020 and by 219.2 million leva (12.4 per cent)
those collected between May and September 2019.

At 28.8 milloon, leva August saw record high duty revenues. They
 are up by 6.3 million leva from от the record high 22.5 million
 leva collected in March of 2017.

The Customs Agency has reported good performance with regards to
 crime countering and customs intelligence.

Between January and September 2021, quantities of intercepted
drugs were 11. 2 times more compared with the like peiod of
2020.

Between January and September there were 56 cases of undeclared
currency, totalling 14,644,014 leva. The amount exceeds the
