An exhibition with Bulgarian participation entitled One of Three was opened in Bucharest on Wednesday.

The exhibition is dedicated to the topic of infertility and includes audio-visual works, more than 30 illustrative objects and 10 art works by Romanian and foreign artists. "The exhibition talks about infertility and miscarriage, but above all about the injustice of being isolated and socially stigmatized after facing these traumatic events. We wanted to break the silence, break this social taboo and create a more inclusive and empathetic community", said the organizers.

Those who feel sympathetic to the cause can also participate in the creation of a mural until September 17, with the materials for it provided by the organizers. The exhibition will then travel to Sofia in October, before being shown in Warsaw in the first half of 2025.

Bulgarian artist Kalina Hristova and film director Maria Stanisheva also participate in the exhibition. Hristova is a graduate of the National Academy of Arts in Sofia and the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. She has been teaching drawing, graphics and illustration at the New Bulgarian University for almost two decades. Her works explore universal human, social and moral themes.

Stanisheva is the founder of ANIMADOCS, an independent film production company operating between Sofia and Bordeaux in France. Her animated documentary Father received 28 awards, including the Golden Dove at the International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film. Her 2016 animated campaign Together to End Male Guardianship, commissioned by Human Rights Watch Saudi Arabia, was seen by over 10 million people. She is currently working on Finding Home, an animated series and interactive art installation that presents the personal stories of climate refugees around the world. The pilot episode of the series was released as an independent short film in 2022 and was nominated for the Unifrance Short Film Awards.
