Vidin, on the Danube, October 1 (BTA) - An explosion occurred at
the Midzhour factory near the village of Gorni Lom, Chouprene
Municipality, around 5 pm on Wednesday. The factory manufactures
explosives for civil purposes and uses ammunitions.

The Spokesperson of the Interior Ministry in Vidin confirmed
that the policy had received a signal about an accident at the
factory. According to Chouprene Mayor Vanyo Kostin, two women
were injured at the factory's entrance and were taken to the
hospital in Montana. Kostin specified that it is still unclear
whether there were workers at the factory's facilities at the
time of the explosion. According to unconfirmed information, 15
workers were injured.

According to preliminary data, there is no risk for the
residents of Gorni Lom. The access to the area of the incident
has been restricted. Investigators of the National Investigation
Service have been sent to the site at the order of the
Prosecutor General, the Interior Ministry said.

The damages to the factory caused by the explosion are still
unclear, Prime Minister Georgi Bliznashki said in reply to a
question.
