Stara Zagora, South Central Bulgaria, October 19 (BTA) - Dimiter
Tanev was elected Deputy Chairman of the Bulgaria for the
Citizens Movement (BCM), which had a meeting of its National
Council in Stara Zagora on Sunday. Tanev has been on the
negotiating team of the Reformist Bloc (an umbrella organization
which includes BCM) during political consultations with the
GERB party in the wake of the October 5 parliamentary elections.
Nayden Zelenogorski also remains BCM Deputy Chairman.
BCM leader Meglena Kuneva recalled that the party has extended
the deadline for an internal referendum on whether the Reformist
Bloc should share in a possible coalition government and which
parliamentary parties would be acceptable as partners to the
Bloc. The results of the BCM referendum are yet to be unveiled.
They will be brought to the notice of the Reformist Bloc, Kuneva
said.
Tanev stressed that they are very serious about the preparations
for the second round of consultations with GERB. But he noted
that the Reformist Bloc has not yet been invited to the second
round.
Tanev, Zelenogorski and a third BCM member, Bisser Manolov, have
been chosen to join a Reformist Bloc group which will meet with
Finance Minister Roumen Porozhanov in the coming days to
discuss a planned update of the national budget. LI/VE
