Finance Ministry Lowers Economic Projections for 2015
Sofia, October 23 (BTA) - The Finance Ministry predicts in its
autumn macroeconomic forecast that Bulgaria's GDP growth will
slow down to 1.2 per cent in 2015 compared with 2.6 per cent
projected in the spring forecast.
The projections, posted on the ministry's website, show that in
2014 the country's GDP will grow by 1.5 per cent, not by 2.1 per
cent as projected in the spring.
The Finance Ministry also lowered other economic projections for
2015: consumption growth - from 2.9 per cent to 0.9 per cent,
export growth - from 5.9 per cent to 3.6 per cent, and import
growth - from 6.6 per cent to 3.1 per cent.
The ministry expects unemployment in 2015 to remain basically
unchanged at 11.6 per cent compared with 11.8 per cent in 2014.
Average annual inflation will be minus 1.1 per cent in 2014 and
plus 0.9 per cent in 2015 (spring projections: plus 0.2 per cent
and plus 2.4 per cent, respectively).
