Deputy PM Zaharieva: Hole in
CorpBank Beats
Expectations
Sofia, October 23 (BTA) - Deputy Prime Minister Ekaterina
Zaharieva told reporters on Thursday that the hole in the
CorpBank was bigger than initially expected.
An auditors' report about CorpBank publicized on Thursday showed
that the bank's capital hole totalled 4,222 million leva.
CorpBank was placed under special supervision in late June.
Zaharieva said that as far as she knew from media publications,
Oman's State General Reserve Fund (which holds a 30.4 per cent
stake in Corpbank through its Luxembourg-registered Bulgarian
Acquisition Co.) has requested a meeting in the central bank.
Zaharieva voiced a hope that such a meeting will take place.
"The investor's suggestion should be heard: how much and in what
timeframe they intend to invest, and only after that an
analysis will be made of how much this will cost and where any
state aid is to come from,Ф she said. PK /ZH/
