Deputy PM: Brussels to Resume Suspended Payments under Operational Programme
Environment within Two Weeks


Sofia, October 29 (BTA) - The European Commission has completed
the checks of the controls of the Operational Programme (OP)
Environment and has approved them, so that resumption of the
suspended payments under the OP is expected within two weeks,
Deputy Prime Minister in charge of EU funds management Iliana
Tsanova told reporters on Wednesday.

"A decision on resuming the payments will be crucial for
Bulgaria because the budget can no longer afford to make such
payments," Tsanova said. She said that 700 million euro in
suspended payments under the OP are expected to be received by
the end of the year. "These amounts are expected and have been
taken into account in the proposal for the budget update,"
Tsanova said.
