Eased Procedures for
Visas Issued to Turkish Holiday Makers Visiting Bulgaria
in Winter Season

Sofia, December 2 (BTA) - The Bulgarian consular services in
Turkey have been instructed to issue double-entry and
multiple-entry three-month visas to Turkish nationals wishing to
holiday in Bulgarian resorts, the Economy and Energy Ministry
said in a press release Tuesday. The measure will apply for the
winter tourist season and has been suggested by Tourism Minister
Nikolina Angelkova, after talks with the Interior Ministry and
the Foreign Ministry.

Preliminary estimates show that winter tourism is to increase by
4-5 per cent, with growths in the numbers of holiday makers
from neighbouring countries projected at 10 per cent from
Turkey, five per cent each from Serbia and Greece, and also from
Macedonia and Romania, Angelkova said at her latest meeting
with tour operators and travel agents which discussed upcoming
marketing initiatives to promote Bulgaria as a tourist
destination next year.

For its part, the business demanded an analysis of the
competitive advantages of Bulgaria as this would make it
possible to create a clear and adequate advertising strategy.
The business also insisted on transparency of the money spent
for advertising Bulgaria as a tourist destination and reports of
the effectiveness of the future activities in this respect. PK
