in Sofia for Concert, Recordings
Sofia, January 26 (BTA) - World-famous Bulgarian piano duo
Aglika Genova and Liuben Dimitrov, whom Claudio Abbado calls
"the piano duo of the younger generation", are coming to Sofia
for two projects with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Bulgarian
National Radio under the baton of Yordan Kamdzhalov, the duo's
team said.
On February 20 the duo will perform Bela Bartok's Concerto for
Two Pianos, Percussion and Orchestra at Bulgaria Hall and will
record the same hours after that for a planned CD with the BNR
label.
This session will be performed with a brand new CFX Yamaha grand
piano worth 120,000 euro especially imported from Germany.
Just days before their arrival to Bulgaria Genova and Dimitrov's
latest CD was released on the world market under the German
"CPO Classics" label. The album, the 14th of the duo, is
dedicated exclusively to the original two pianos works by
composer Franz Liszt, as well as to his own arrangements of solo
piano works for piano duo.
The duo recently starred South Florida's most famous
presentation show for classical music - the Frank Cooper
Interview Series, which is hosted live by the Professor Emeritus
of the University of Miami Frank Cooper at the Clarke Hall and
is dedicated to the most outstanding international artists.
