Communications Surveillance Agency Ex-Officer Sentenced to 2 Years' Imprisonment for Information Leaks

Sofia, July 2 (BTA) - Antoaneta Purvanova, a former inspector at
the State Agency for Technical Operations, received a two year
prison sentence from the Sofia City Court for leaking
information to surveillance subjects, the prosecuting magistracy
said in a press release on Thursday.

Purvanova was arrested in early 2014 in a joint operation of the
prosecution service and the State Agency for National Security,
after it was established that, for a monthly pay ranging from
500 to 3,000 leva, she had checked which telephones were
monitored. She was tried for disclosing information constituting
a state secret.
