Sofia, December 10 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 711,364 after 36,141 tests identified 1,827 new infections on Thursday, December 9, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate for the day was 5.05 per cent. Some 80.57 per cent of the new cases are unvaccinated persons.

Sofia City tops the list of new cases with 396 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 190 cases and Varna Region with 129.

The active cases are 98,103. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,411, including 643 in intensive care. Newly hospitalized patients on Monday number 443, and 87.81 per cent of them are unvaccinated.

The infected medical staff so far during the pandemic have reached 17,661, including 4,695 doctors and 5,852 nurses.

Another 2,130 COVID-19 patients recovered in 24 hours, bringing the total to 583,879. One hundred and three fatalities were reported (95.15 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 29,382.

With 18,835 new inoculations on Monday, 3,466,433 vaccine doses have been administered so far. MT/KK
