Central Bank Announces New Directors
Sofia, October 31 (BTA) - As part of structural changes at the
Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) effective November 1, it announced
its newly appointed directors on Friday.
Boyan Bonchev heads the Resolution of Credit Institutions
Directorate. He was chief inspector and team manager, Risk
Management director at a commercial bank, and was involved in
implementing the Basel II and Basel III standards. Holds a
Master's degree in Finance from the University of National and
World Economy, specialized in banking at Georgetown University,
Washington, D.C.
Nelly Draginova was appointed Head Lawyer. Member of the Legal
Committee of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB). Holds
a Master's degree in Law from Sofia University, specialized in
England and Wales.
Veselka Paneva heads the new Off-site Supervision Directorate of
the Banking Supervision Department. Has long-standing
experience in Banking Supervision, Banking Analyses, worked at
the Bank of England. Holds a Master's degree in Accounting and
Control.
Mihail Dimov heads the Payment Supervision Directorate of the
Banking Supervision Department. Has long experience as expert
and head of a Payment Systems Policies team, worked as an expert
at the European Central Bank's Directorate General Payments and
Market Infrastructure. Holds a Master's degree in Finance.
Rumyana Hampartzoumian heads the Methodology and Financial
Markets Directorate of the Banking Supervision Department.
Banking expert. Holds a Master's degree in Finance and
Accounting Management from Lancaster University, a Bachelor's
degree in Finance from McGill University, Montreal.
Svetla Nikolova heads the Payment Systems Directorate. Worked as
head of the Payment Systems Department. BNB Permanent
Representative on the Committee on Payment and Settlement
Systems and the EU Forum of national Single Euro Payments Area
(SEPA) Coordination Committees. MBA. Graduated from Sofia
University and Erasmus University, Rotterdam.
