Test Positivity Rate at 4.5%
Sofia, December 11 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 713,083, after 38,131 tests identified 1,719 new infections on Friday, 80.63 per cent of which were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 4.5 per cent.
Sofia tops the list of new cases with 408 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv with 149 cases and Varna with 106.
The active cases are 97,416. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,242, including 628 in intensive care. Of the 494 hospital admissions, 84 per cent were not vaccinated.
The infected medical staff have reached 17,705.
Another 2,329 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 586,208.
Seventy-seven fatalities were reported (92.21 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 29,459.
With 18,222 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 3,484,650 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 1,835,785 people are fully vaccinated, and 165,617 have received a booster jab.
