site.btaBulgaria's Debt in 2016 Accounts for 29.03% of GDP - Official Statistics

Sofia, October 23 (BTA) - According to finalized data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) released on Monday, Bulgaria's debt in 2016 totalled 27,322 million leva, or 29.03 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

A deficit of 36 million leva (0.04 per cent of the GDP) was reported in the State Government sector.

The Central Government sub-sector ran a surplus of 21 million leva, while the surpluses in the sub-sectors of Local Government and Social Security Funds stood at 73 million leva and 21 million leva, respectively, NSI said.
