site.bta400 Ambulances to Be Purchased for Emergency Rooms Across Bulgaria

Sofia, December 23 (BTA) - The Health Ministry will purchase 400 ambulances for emergency rooms across the country. A total of 163.5 million leva has just been made available for these from the EU-funded Operational Programme Regions in Growth 2014-2020, said the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works Saturday.

The Health Ministry will be beneficiary of the financing.

The 400 ambulances will be fitted with state-of-the-art medical equipment.

In addition to that, the funding will also go for refurbishment of 27 emergency medical centres in the regional capiitals, and their 170 branches.

The implementation of the project is expected to help carry through the reform in the ambulance service, which will improve significantly the quality of health services, the Ministry said.
