site.btaPrime Minister Borissov Confers with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Yee

Sofia, July 24 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov conferred here with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Hoyt B. Yee, who is paying a working visit to Bulgaria, the Government Information Service said on Monday.

The head of government presented the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council. The two also discussed bilateral cooperation in various areas of shared interest. Yee welcomed the placing of the topic of the Western Balkans on the agenda of the Presidency. He congratulated Borissov on the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Good-neighbourliness and Cooperation between Bulgaria and Macedonia and stressed that Balkan stability and development are exceedingly important for the region as well as for all Europe.

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of State wished success to the first Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council.
