site.btaChirpan to Host International Lavender Festival June 21-23

An international lavender festival will take place in Chirpan from June 21 to June 23, the local administration said on Thursday. The festival is organized under the patronage of the Tourism Ministry and the Culture Ministry. 

The programme will begin with a morning yoga session in the lavender field, as the first day of the festival is on International Yoga Day. Later, a lavender bazaar of crafts will open in the town centre, where farmers and artists will present their works, and guests can visit the culinary alley with wine tasting. The photography exhibition Magic of the Chirpan Land of the photography club at the people's community centre will have a photo booth for lavender memories. The festival's official opening will take place in the evening with a festive procession.

A new tourist health trail will officially open on the second day, and visitors can hike from the village of Mogilovo to the village of Stoyan Zaimovo. The hike is organized by the Srednogorets Tourist Association. Stars of Bulgaria concert with the participation of Plamen Bonev (De La Bona) and Miro and a summer lavender party with DJ Mascota will be staged in the evening.

The last day will feature a lesson in Indian dances and henna painting, and a concert by the Symphony Orchestra and Choir of the Stara Zagora State Opera, with the participation of Vasil Petrov, will close the festival.
