BTA to Implement Third Young Journalists Training Programme in Partnership with European Parliament

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), in partnership with the European Parliament (EP), will implement a third training programme for young journalists from national and regional media in Bulgaria.

The October 28-30 programme is titled "Do You Know about the EU Institutions?". The trainees will learn about the functions of the institutions of the European Union, the values of the Community, the European elections and disinformation campaigns about them, and the role of the media.

Lecturers will include leading EU affairs experts, experienced practicing journalists and MEPs, among them Prof. Ingrid Shikova, Assoc. Prof. Ivan Nachev, Maria Yurukova, Andrey Novakov, Iva Toncheva, Tsvetelina Penkova, Assoc. Prof. Ralitsa Kovacheva, Bilyana Tsarnorechka and Kalina Varbanova (EP Sofia Office), Nikolay Jeliazkov, Assoc. Prof. Georgi Lozanov, Parvan Simeonov PhD, Maya Bozhinova and Evita Smilkova.

Some of the young journalists will have a chance to visit the EP in Brussels in February.

The EP Training Programme for Young European Journalists is active in 20 member states.
