An exhibition titled "Bulgaria through the eyes of Poles" has opened at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute (BCI) in Warsaw, BCI Director Petar Lyanguzov told BTA.

The exhibition is the outcome of the annual contest "My Bulgarian Journey", organized by the Bulgarian Cultural Institute, the Embassy of Bulgaria in Poland, and the National Tourist Representation of Bulgaria in Warsaw.

The ninth edition of the contest, which concluded on February 15 and included more than 800 entries, selected 19 winners. The exhibition showcasing their works was opened by Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Poland, Margarita Ganeva, who thanked the winners for promoting Bulgaria's tourist attractions and culture in collaboration with the National Tourist Representation and the Bulgarian Cultural Institute.

"During the contest, friends of Bulgaria who visited our country in 2024 shared their impressions of Bulgarian nature, architecture, history and cultural heritage," Lyanguzov said.

Each edition of the contest ends with the best photographs being displayed on the fence of the Bulgarian Embassy in Warsaw and at the gallery of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute. The exhibition is then also displayed in other cities across Poland.

"The contest project proved for the ninth time that Poles associate Bulgaria with more than just 'roses, wine, Golden Sands and Sunny Beach', which proves that there is a great potential for cultural tourism development in our country," Lyanguzov said.
